Port of Entry to Bohol: Tubigon

Image
For the second time, my daughter and I entered Bohol through Tubigon.  If there had been a boat that sail from Cagayan de Oro to Jagna, then we could have entered through Jagna.  But there was no other choice this time since our time is not much, so we sailed to Cebu City and catch a ferry to Bohol. It's been the second time but the place to purchase tickets is different than before.  Good thing there was the guy who is selling pop rice that assisted us.  Later I discovered that he tried assisting in exchange for the purchase of pop rice. lol! It was still 8 am but the sun was already biting on our skin and our perspiration was enough to wet our backs.  I can imagine this guy was just trying to get an income from the food stuff he was selling, so, I bought 3 packs of pop rice. I never thought Dimple and I will not love it. But due to hunger, we ate it once we were settled on our seats. Last time, it was an ordinary ferry (2 hours travel) that took us from Cebu pier to Tubigon.  But...

Dimple & Me at Rizal Park, Manila

Image
Last November, Dimple and I went to Manila for a few days. It's my treat for her birthday at the same time my first long distance travel that year. We paid less for a ticket for two and that is thanks to Cebu Pacific for giving us the chance to fly even on a tight budget. These  photos were taken when we passed through Luneta Park on our way to Ocean Park. It was a first time experience for her and mine too as I haven't been to this place at day time. The first time I was here was long long time ago with college friends and it was at night. That is me, in front of the famous Jose Rizal landmark.   The daughter It is her first time her. Later in the evening, we came back to this place and she took the time to go around the whole area. At night the place got tiangge where they sell just any stuff. She was looking for a particular rubber bracelet so she went around. I did not have the strength to go around with her anymore because I was already too tired. The Us = Mommy and her mo...

My Cousin is Off to College in Manila

My cousin just finished his high school. He graduated his high school with very good results. Everyone in the family was very happy for him. He told me that he can now move on with his dreams of becoming a doctor. Studying in the medical field is not cheap at all and it is very costly. Thankfully, he got a scholarship based on his excellent results in high school. Upon getting the scholarship, his parents also got him a car because with the scholarship, his parents can now use the college fund prepared for him to get a car for him instead. However, the scholarship offered to him is by a university far away from his home. He had to leave home to pursue his dreams. It wasn't a challenge to him as his parents supported him all the way. One thing he had to settle is a place to stay. He doesn't know the area well and it was very hard for him to find a place to stay. I told him that he could try finding Makati short term apartments to have a temporary stay while he looks for a more...

I Was at Manny Pacquiao's Residence in General Santos City

Image
It was in October 2008 that Dimple and I had the chance to visit Manny's residence in General Santos City. It was a quick treat for the attendees of the Mindanao Bloggers Summit.   That's me on the picture wall.  Manny was not around but the pictures posted on the the wall of fame outside his home show's a still-life portait of him so it was still like he was there to entertain us.  Many took a souvenir of Manny through this wall.   The huge gate!   The pool that is formed like a boxing glove.  That building far behind is his sport building.  They said that is where Manny spends time to practice his sport.  On the ground floor is the garage. The daughter! After this day tour, the daughter and I proceeded to Davao City to spend the night.  Our two companions were still in Sarangani and we agreed to meet up in Davao city the next day.   I could have the chance again to visit Gen San last November for another bloggers event but it got in conflict with a blogger event that I ...
