The General Santos Trip

Thanks to blogging, I had my first time visit to General Santos in October 2008.  I represented a travel blog/forum site so my expenses were free - like fare, hotel accommodation, and food allowance.  This was pre-recession time of the US so the sponsor was sort of bongga na bongga to send me.  But his purpose was an exposure of his sites.

Anyway, the blogging activity that happened there was posted in another blog but in this post, id like to share with you some  nice photos of that trip:

a shot of my daughter with Mt. Palaopao in Sumilao, Bukidnon.

One great thing about going on a road  trip with photographers, they stop anytime to shoot! I so love it and that is why i am wishing to do a road trip to Manila in the soon future.

another stop to take a photo of this Kidapawan landmark.   Our destination was General Santos.  We travelled from Iligan to Cagayan de Oro to Bukidnon, North Cotabato and suppose will take the quick route to Gen Santoas.  But it was past 6 pm and no one will take the risk of traveling in quicker time in a dangerous route, so we made a detour to Kidapawan, then Digos and off to General Santos City.  Many said it was a long long trip...but it was worth it.  Everyone felt comfortable that we would reach our destination safely.

The second day of the summit was spent on a tour. Firs stop was at the fish port.

We really went inside and saw the process of receiving the fish from the boats, then they are weighed until they are put into a container full of ice.

take your pick.
I want to pick two to carry to Iligan but they were too big and too heavy.
It's so hard to board it on a bus ^^
Just kidding

awww poor fishes.
as they grow they swim in a big ocean,
one day, they swim in an box full of ice.

From the fish port, we then went to Sarangani Highlands:

At the entrance - the welcome marker!

The place is was a breathtaking.  It was naturally nature and the view of the blue seas.  The air was so cool! Such a nice place to spend the sizzling summer.  It was newly opened that time.  So for sure this time, it could been much much prettier to visit.

From Sarangani off we went to the city --and to this place:  Guess whose place is this?

It was one very hot day and when we were down our vehicle, we want to be inside that gate right away.  But we have to wait for the others ---

at last we are in! ^^

From the front, we went to the back and this what met our eyes -- another big building.  They said, it houses his gym.  And below the building is his garage of i forgot how many cars.  See that pool?  What's the form?  Can you picture out the glove form?

The champ nor his family was not home that time.  They were in Manila. Yet their veranda wall is full of Manny's pre--fight shots with his opponent or with great people.  Here's me with one of those framed photos. ^^

At least in picture man lang! lol!
