Retreat at Bohol Tropics Resort

Image
The Tri-Union Hospital Board Retreat was held at Bohol Tropics Resort in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. It was not the first retreat ever organized by the SSD-Adventist Health System but it was the first time to be held in Visayas. Hosted by HW Miller Sanitarium and Hospital, the venue was decided to be in Bohol. We traveled from Iligan 4 pm Sunday to catch our boat that will leave at 8pm.  We just arrived on time and in awhile, the boat left.  The next day, we arrived almost 2 hours before our scheduled arrival.  So instead of 9 am departure for Tagbilaran we were able to catch the 6 am trip and we just added Php 350/head as our tickets were purchased on a promo rate.  Oh well Php 350 is better than being stuck at the pier for 4-5 hours to wait for the next trip. The fast craft trip was breeze.  Their were no big waves.  Only a bit when we were almost at Tagbilaran.  I think at the area just after Cabilao Island. I am not suppose to be in this trip.  But since the wife of our VPF cannot make...

Wishing for an Orlando Trip

One of the basic things to do before going on a travel is saving for the trip.  It does not necessarily mean that you will carry wads of cash or multiple credit cards to let you enjoy a trip, but at least you have enough money to pay for your hopping fare unless you go on foot through the duration of the trip.  You must at least have enough cash to let you grab a meal (real meal) at least once a day.  Because of this, my friends and I are  on tight budget.  We try to save up for a trip in the last quarter of this year. This summer, we are going to Siquijor Island and it is going to be a trip with the daughter.  I am not yet sure what kind of accommodation we are going to have but it would be some hotel.  I wish it will be some kind of like Orlando Hotels which offers a hot deals.  A friend gave me a positive review of Orlando Hotels so am also sharing it with friends in some parts of Europe and are planning a winter getaway for 2012 as early as now.  Good thing about Orlando holidays i...

New Eye-Candy at Midway White Beach Resort

Image
The last time I visited Midway Beach Resort was in June 2011 during our coloquium. We did not stay overnight. It was only a day-time affair and had our commitment service here in the campus. I then never thought I'd be back there so soon. Thanks to IBS for deciding to have the strat plan there or else I will never get the chance to see some new eye-candies in this resort. I bet some of the buildings were already there last year or even before but this time it was nicely renovated and painted. The main admin building.  On the second floor is a conference room.  The orange paint glows nicely against the blue sky.   They have dorm-type accommodations before.  This time, they still have but in a more comfortable room.  They have air-conditioned  rooms that can accommodate 8 people.  You don't have to bring beddings and even towels because they all have it prepared for its guests.  An LCD TV is also provided in each room. They also have a 3-storey wooden building that costs four tho...

LRT Adventures

LRT was my major transport today. The bus arrived LRT - EDSA station  from the airport quicker than I thought it would be. Thanks to a no-traffic morning.  The early flight from cdo made me realized that it is nice to travel first flight as we had a smooth flight and even had a smooth landing.  It was my first time in two years that I fly Cebu Pacific and the plane landed without doing many circles up in the air highway. I then took the LRT from EDSA then got off at Dorotheo Jose.  From there, I walked to LRT 2 Terminal.  Got my ticket from the vending machine and took the train from Recto and to get off at Pureza.  Before I reached the road, I already saw my friend, Stenette with her back on me but I was so sure it was her.  ^^ After breakfast, my first LRT adventure happened. FIRST ADVENTURE I took the train that went on the same route while going to Pureza.  I was like jumping off my seat when it V Mapa station was announced.  I denied myself that I heard the wrong station, and I co...

Pinay Travels to Manila: Thanks Cebu Pacific

November 22-24 was slated for a Manila trip that is the reason why i filed for a leave for those days.  The 22 was flight in day and the 24th was flight out.  To measure the time, we just really had 1 full day in Manila.  It was so short to cover up all the places we plan to cover and to do all the things we want to do.  But then, even if not all were done but the things that happened was really a blast! The PMC 2nd Grand Eyeball which was attended by 50 mommies was  held at Aling Tonya's Restaurant. We went there directly from the airport.  Aling Tonya's is located at Macapagal drive with Claire Dela Fuente as the venue marker.  Thanks to those beautiful ladies who met us up at the airport with a driver that knows the place, so the trip was quicker than expected. Mommies who attended the event had a great time and had a bit hard time going home with lots of token and loot bags. The f irst Postcrossing - Philippines and also the Postcrossing Enthusiasts Meet-up at the Manila ...

Lake Apo: The Plan and the Visit

Image
The first time I saw Lake Apo in the Facebook account of the owner, Dr. Almer Alfonso, I said to myself, I am going there.  So I clicked Like on the photo and then later ask Dr. Almer how to get there.  Summer was over and first semester started and I still can't put into my schedule a trip to Bukidnon.  I desired to see the place alone.  But then thinking it would be more fun to have company, I tagged the photo to my fellow Iligan blogger, Pinay Travelista .  I am betting she got a mole on her foot thus her travel blog.   Indeed she agreed to make me realize my wish without a second thought.  We thought we could make it last August during the last weekend where Iligan enjoyed a long weekend.   But Dr. Almer was on vacation in the US.  September made us really busy for the planning of the coming MBS5 so the plan was put aside to an unknown schedule. Before September ended, I know I am going to make the plan a reality.  I shared the plan with fellow Iligan bloggers and invited ever...
