Beef Tapa Unforgettable Pork Ribs Laing Pasta Chinese Pork Belly Pork Marinara Fish Fillet with Tar2 Sauce Laing Beef Caldereta Braised Soft Tofu Dinner for the first night of the DFAT 2012 was at Lachi's.  Looking at their logo, I thought it's a shop for sweets.  But when I arrived there with the group and served with this variety of viands, I concluded that Lachi's is also one of restaurants in Davao that has it all -- authentic Filipino dishes and desserts to control to cut off that appetite of wanting to have more. There were more than 10 main dishes served and several of them are pork recipes.  Meaning, I was not able to taste the recipes made or pork or served with pork.  I guess I was the only one in the group of more than 20 bloggers from all over the country.  So to let me have an idea that the certain pork menu can be rated as "super masarap" that can make the mouth water,  I asked my friends.

A Guide to Cheap Holidays in Cyprus

Cyprus is well known across the UK and the rest of Europe as a great place to visit on holiday regardless of what kind of getaway you're looking for this time around. If it's a party atmosphere and some of the Med's top nightclubs you're after then Aiya Napa might be the place for you but if you prefer a more serene pace during your week or so away then there are plenty of amazing coastal destinations for you to choose from as well. Perhaps the most charming of the towns to visit on the island is Paphos, where there is a great deal to see and experience. From top-notch restaurants to fascinating sites of historical interest, and from gorgeous beaches and beautiful weather, Paphos really has it all for holidaymakers. The good news is that cheap holidays in Cyprus are easier to come by now than ever before with travel companies always ready, willing and able to take holidaymakers to the most reliably popular resorts across the island. The top tip for anyone, whether you&

DFAT 2012 - Day 1 @ Crocodile Park & Tribu K Mindanawan Cultural Village

Image
After the introduction and more chika chika at Ranchero, the time has come for us to leave for the Crocodile Park where we saw several exotic friendly animals.  Friendly in the sense that you can hold them for picture taking.  I never had one with any of those snakes (the dark and the albino).  Even the baby crocodile whose mouth was taped, I did not hold it thought they offered it for free.  I just enjoyed going around taking pictures. The park visitors mostly enjoyed taking photos with these animals especially the snakes.  The tiger looks big but he is jut five months old.  I only saw one crocodile that is out of the water.  I know there were more but I was not able to see them in their cages. Adjacent to the Crocodile Park is the Tribu K' Mindanawan Cultural Village and their Kaunanan where they had an amphitheater for their fire dance presentation. We were just on time to witness it.   My shots were not that good as I am not yet very familiar with the modes or settings of my ca

DFAT 2012 - Day 1 @ Ranchero

Image
Friday, May 4 was the first day of the DFAT event.  I had a long travel the night before and I arrived Davao City a bit past nine in the morning.  A friend and fellow-DFAT participant and her hubby nicely accommodate me in their lovely abode in Catalunan Grande.  They too did not have sleep the night before because of work and I guess because they waited up for me.  Anyway, after a quick breakfast, we went back to sleep.  I fell hard because if sis Kerslyn did not woke me up, I will never woke up on my own. lol!   To make the long story short -- we were late! We were late in our first appointment at Ranchero in Abreeza Ayala Mall which is at 2 pm. When I saw the food on the table, I realized that I was hungry. lol!   All of them have done eating so we ordered what we liked to have and this: Fresh lumpia Fried lumpia Bihon Guisado Since we missed our lunch for sleep, everything looks and tastes good.  Though I only have a piece of the fried lumpia because I can feel the oil in spite of i

Travel - My "in" for May!

Traveling will be the thing I am going to love for this month of May.  Wanna know why?  Because I have to travel three times.  First will be to Davao for the Davao Food Appreciation Tour.  Second will be in Siquijor - a tour for me since this will be my first time and it's going to be via Dumaguete, another place where I haven't set foot ever also. The third and probably the last for this month will be the Mindanao Tour for the hospital and college workers. The Tour Mindanao will go out in four batches.  Because of my other trips,  the only schedule that I can fit in is the the schedule of the third batch.  Our route will be from Iligan to Gingoog then Butuan then Davao then General Santos then Pagadian.  If time still allows we will pass by Ozamis City. Anyway, I am excited to begin this May trips this coming weekend! Off to Davao in a few days.
